My younger sister, who is mentally ill, heard an ad for Equally Yoked on the radio. She called them and they asked her to come in for an interview. She told them upfront that she was a disabled veteran, 100% disabled, schizophrenic. She was interested in using their services until she heard their prices. The lowest price they offered her was $1, 995 for one year. She immediately told them that she could not afford that. She told them repeatedly that she could not afford it. She told the salesman that she needed to call her sister who handles her finances. She needed someone to help her get out of there. He told her, You do not need to call anyone. You can make this decision on your own. She told him she had other things she needed more than their services—like a dining room table. He told her, You should be willing to eat off of the floor in order to find a good Christian man. No matter what she said, he had an argument. She felt like she could not make a phone call or leave. He wore her down until she finally signed the contract and gave him her credit card information. She drove straight to my house to ask for my help. I called Equally Yoked office in Atlanta. The salesman was in a meeting. I asked to speak to the manager. She was not at her desk. I called back twice. I finally sent them an email. The salesperson called my sister to argue with her rather than deal with me. She called me crying after she talked to him. I called the office again. The salesman was gone to supper. When he finally called me back he told me I could fax my Power of Attorney and they would look over it and make a decision. What a jerk!
