Respected sir/madam,
My kid came home last week with a note from the school announcing they were having a Pirate Day scheduled for next week. The school sold the most entertainment books in a fundraiser and this is their reward the students voted on, getting to dress like a pirate for one day.\r\nMy gripe is this; they are not allowed to wear hats or bandannas because it is school policy, not even pirate hats for the one day. No hooks or peg legs, no large metal buckles, no telescopes, no swords or pistols as these are weapons and again, against school policy. No parrots or pets - against school policy. So I sent my kid with a note asking about eye patches, got a response that that probably won\\\\t fly either, as that would impair vision, interfere with reading ability, etc., and possibly be a physical hazard; impairing depth perception and balance.\r\nWTH is left? And more importantly, WTH is the point then?
