The elderly brother of my wife, received this incredible offer in the mail that Financial Freedom Reverse Mortgage would pay him cash upfront, for his house and he would never have to repay the loan. Obviously he did not understand that he was supposed to make monthly payments back to the mortgage company. When the statements started coming, the payment was over $500/mo, and he only had social security for income. Now, 5 years later, we find out that the mortgage company says that he owes over $115, 000 on a property value of $80, 000. Now they are send letters that say they are going to foreclose on the house, and he will have no place to go. Five years ago, he had a home paid for, and now nothing. This is clearly abuse to the elderly.
