Respected sir/madam,
Lynn Milstead of Jollytime Ragdolls Cattery of Kannapolis NC, knowingly sent home her ragdoll kittens with fleas at a very early 7.5 weeks of age. My ragdoll kitten obviously came to me also sneezing (4 times the first night) and turned out to be coronoavirus positive and died a tragic death at 7 months of age to a fatal infectious disease called FIP. This breeder was rude, confrontational and refused a refund for the kitten when I contacted her about the issue.\r\n\r\nJollytime Ragdolls, a ragdoll breeder located in North Carolina, should be ashamed of herself. When I contacted her about the cornonavirus positive results and the kitten\\\\s terrible bloodwork that indicated the FIP disease at only 5 months of age - Lynn Milstead, instead of working with me (since I was trying to warn her and help her future kittens) - was instead super defensive. In my email I had simply stated \\\"you might want to clean up your cattery\\\" based on the fact that it can live and be passed between cats within their food dishes and litter boxes.\r\n\r\nI had read this:\r\n\r\n\\\"Commercial cattery have the highest rate of FIP. The cat breeding community, and veterinarians who assist them see that some breeds and breeders of purebred cats have more of an FIP problem than others. When you breed for a visible trait of any kind, you both concentrate and loose other traits that are not visible. Robust immunity can be one of these non-visible traits. Cats that repeatedly produce FIP+ offspring should not be bred.\r\n\r\nCoronavirus is most common where multiple cats live. It moves between cats through stool-contamination; so the litter box in multiple cat households is a good place to find the virus. Coronavirus is not a very tough or resistant virus when it is outside of the body. A little sunshine and warmth quickly destroy it and most common disinfectants readily inactivate (kill) it as do many detergents.\\\"\r\n\r\nshe called me up at work and started berating me since I had only stated \\\"You might want to clean up your cattery\\\" this was her response during our conversation:\r\n\r\n\\\"ARE YOU CALLING MY CATTERY DIRTY? WHY DON\\\\T YOU COME HERE, YOU KNOW WHERE I LIVE, WHY DON\\\\T YOU COME AND SAY THAT TO MY FACE?!!!\\\" just like some Jerry Springer guest starting a fight. She then was argumentative, confrontational and ridiculously horrible and refused to refund the money for the ragdoll kitten purchased from Jollytime Ragdolls just 5 months previously.\r\n\r\nI was completely taken back by this and hung up on her due to her extremely confrontational manner and obvious anger towards me for having a kitten who was sent home sick from her cattery. I have all the vet records showing he was sneezing (a sign of FIP) four times on the very night he came home. He continued to sneeze until his death. She was not aware of the fleas, or of his sneezing, indicating a hands-off approach to her Jollytime Ragdoll kittens. Do not purchase a kitten from Lynn Milstead of Jollytime Ragdolls Cattery in North Carolina, she was awful to me and my kitten died a painful horrible, and expensive death with a few months of coming home from her ragdoll cattery in NC. Please contact me to attain all vet records to prove he came home sick from her cattery.
