Respected sir/madam,
This was several years ago but I just found this web site and as you will see, a complaint is definitely in order!\r\nI was extremely ill and could only eat pretty bland food, so my boyfriend offered to get me something and I had him order and pick up some bread sticks and soup at Mary\\\\s. When he got back, I was eating a bread stick when, suddenly, I bit down on something extremely hard. I honestly thought I had cracked a tooth. Upon further investigation, the item that had been cooked into the bread stick (what I bit) was a RUSTY, industrial sized staple. No, I am not joking. And we all know that people sue company\\\\s for more minor issues every day but I\\\\m not that type of person. However, I was irritated by my throbbing/painful jaw for the next few hours.\r\nRight after my boyfriend and I found the staple, he called the store to let them know what had happened (I was REALLY sick and just didn\\\\t want to deal with it). They told him to come down to the store so that they could make things \\\"right\\\". Well, even though my boyfriend made it clear that it was me that bit the staple and ordered the food, the store manager did not take the few minutes necessary to call and apologize...didn\\\\t send a letter of apology, didn\\\\t contact me AT ALL. What he did do, was hand my boyfriend a gift card to the store for $10 or $20...Seriously???\r\nI have been in customer service my entire life and still cannot believe the level of rudeness and idiocy the manager displayed that day. I have had nothing but great experiences at Mary\\\\s at other times, so I was quite surprised. Also, didn\\\\t he/she realize that I could have sued them EASILY if I chose to go that route? I still have a bad taste in my mouth regarding this event...no pun intended lol but i guess I could say I have a sharp, rusty taste in my mouth. I feel that if the head of all Mary\\\\s stores, CEO or whatever title, if that person knew how the incident was handled, multiple people probably would have been fired because Mary\\\\s is supposed to be built upon a warm, welcoming and family friendly atmosphere...the customer is supposed to feel taken care of.\r\nWell, I definitely felt the OPPOSITE of taken care of. Because I didn\\\\t have any interaction with the manager (regarding the staple incident) I don\\\\t know who they are but for the sake of the reputation of Mary\\\\s restaurants, I hope that they were fired long ago! |
