billed for unordered merchandise
Respected sir/madam,
I received a Reader\\s Digest book a couple of months ago. I did not order it. A month later I received another book. Also unordered. My account has been cancelled, but they have sent me a bill for $30.28. I have the book, but I am not going to return it by paying the postage myself.

I ordered two magazine gift subscriptions to Readers Digest at Christmas which I paid for in full at the time I placed the order. Afterwards, I received a book and a pen set that I not only did NOT order, but the literature that came with the book said it was a "free gift." I gave the book away and didn't think anything more about. Then, in March, I received another book and "free gift." Shortly after that, I received a bill for $30! I did not order the product and I never agreed to sign up for the book club. In fact, after ordering the magazines, I did not initiate any further communication with this company. Today, I received a notice from Charles Dean, Collection Manager,at the Reader's Digest Association. I don't know what's going on with this company, but it stinks of a scam and I absolutely refuse to pay for product I did not order! I am sending a copy of this to Mr. Charles Dean. (Can you say "Class Action Suit?");
