Respected sir/madam,
I'm at the end of my rope and I only have myself to blame after being told repeatedly to leave Wells Fargo a long time ago. In 2001 and moved from another bank to Wells Fargo. I did a debit transfer of $10, 000.00 to them to lower my interest and payment. Three years later I got a huge bonus from work and paid it off with one check. Since then I have set up auto pay for all my bills and overdraft protection to their Visa Platinum card that climbed to a limit of $20, 000.00 and like others, the bills hit during times when the funds are low and this causes an overdraft. For five years I average about $3, 000.00 a year over to the Visa card which I always pay off. Last July they started moving the due dates around. One bill would show a due date of the 10th and another the 15th. In August for the first time ever I missed it all together? I did spot this on their website so I made a double payment. November come around and I only a couple dates late but this was fixed by simply paying the single bill. January '09 comes and this happens again. All the time there's no overdrafts so I'm thinking I'm in good shape so I spend some extra think I can handle the overdraft like I', acustomed to and life moves on. Here's were things get really ugly! I open my AOL account to read emails and there overdraft notices all over the place? I see three on 03/27/09 which is also pay day. I immediately go to their website and find that I'm sitting negative $256.24? My pay checks gone and there's eight overdrafts over the past two weeks? Remebr when I said that my Visa has a $20, 000.00 limit and is the source for overdraft? I call them and is get down write stupid. I get this second or third level person who explains that in November after I was late with only a second payment, they decided to cut my Visa limit to only $2, 900.300. She then explains that since then, every time I swiped my ATM card there was a $35.00 fee attached to each transaction no mater how large or small and that I have hit the $2, 900.00 limit a few weeks ago. I then asked about the 27th and why three? It's because I used it three times that day and they had gabbed all my money wright after it was deposited. I told her that on transaction was for an energy drink only and this person could see a small purchase that caused a fee. That alone translates into a $38.00 single can of energy drink. I told her that I signed up for $50.00 dollar incriments and this person told me that, that was only when it goes to the Visa card, all other overdrafts are for each transaction? I told her to please remove these because they are totaly unfair and also asked her why wasn't I ever notified of this issue? This person simply claims I was and told me "I'm denying your request because your account is overdrawn"? I told this person that you folks did it and it can and should be removed. Denied again. This person then reminded me that my next payment is due on the 15th but I told her that the automated message said the 10th. This person then said that's a grace period? Now their way out in left field. I then tell this person that now that they took all my money, how can I pay my other bill and YOURS? This person goes silent for a moment then responds that the payments due on the 15th? I told this person that I was in total shock a the way they are treating me after all these years and all the hundreds of dollars I've payed them over the years. This person then says "Would you like to make a payment now"? Are you kidding me? Were am I going to get the money? I told this person that they are not going to win this. I stopped the auto depost for my paycheck. Call all the companies that I have set up with auto pay and turned them back to paper and cashed out a major chunk of my retirement stocks to cover me during this crisis. Most banks would have worked something out but not Wells Fargo. They train their people to be ruthless. It's not a computer program that decides issues for them, it's the people. I know for fact that they are in the wrong and this person could have removed as least one of the fees but just plain didn't want to. If there's anyone that's filed or filing a lawsuite against them then please do and you can count me in or I will simply go it alone. |
