I received an email from this recruiter saying he had a position to discuss. However, when I called him he immediately started slamming my resume and work tenures. I told him that my most recent employer was contract and he yelled at me saying I should have put contract in the job title. When I told him that it was indeed noted on my resume he then said he didnt have it in front of him.\r\nHe continued to slam my resume going as far as to ask me if I had been through a divorce or life trauma. He also said sarcastically that I could choose to stay in the toilet in NJ or I could move to Alabama where the action is. I then told him I had a couple of interviews with NJ companies and he said well you dont get paid for going on interviews. At this point I called him out on his attitude and he then retorted that his job was to weed out trouble candidates and that he makes more than I ever would and then he hung up.\r\nIn all of my days of job searching I have never before dealt with such ignorant and unprofessional behavior from a recruiter. While they have the right to question candidates about their past work experiences, his tone, demeanor, and assumptions about my situation were inappropriate and unacceptable. As a job seeker, I know how hard it is to find the right position in this market. To however then be treated in the aforementioned manner was absolutely disheartening. As a result, I would never ever recommend this recruiter to anyone.
