Complaint: I am a contractor and I make (made) frequent purchases at Home Depot. One reason is that it is convenient to be able to buy whatever I may need to get a job done, including items to cover contingencies, rather than make multiple return trips for missed or forgotten items. I can then return the extra items without worrying. I am in there several times a week and I purchase on average about 500-800 per week or 25000/year or more. Yesterday I was told I could not return a box of Ledgerlock bolts because I didnt have the receipt and Home Depots third party refund screening service determined that they shouldnt refund my money. In the past I had been given store credit if I did not have a receipt. I was given a slip of paper with a case number and told to call the 3rd party service who after some discussion agreed with me that there was nothing they could do for me and agreed that the call was a waste of time. They wouldnt even let me talk to a store manager, as they said he could do nothing. I wont be going back. We have a great hardware store in town and a great lumber company with full service. They actually want my business and stand by their return policies and dont hide behind an anonymous third party to allow or deny refunds based on who knows whaty. Good job Home Depot, youve lost my business forever.
