Complaint: Our maid of honr had ordered a dress through the House of Brides. The contract had the date of arrival for one month prior to the wedding so alterations could be made. Once the date came she called and didn’t get a return phone call but we figured if it was a few days late not a big deal. She contiuned to call day after day and no one would talk to her or return her phone calls even after she asked to speak to a district or regional manager. After a few weeks she went into the store to get answers. They informed her the dress was at the distrubution center in New York and it arrived there two weeks ago. However the colors on the dress were red and purple. The colors were supposed to be gray and yellow. They relazied it was wrong two weeks prior and simply avoided her to not have to deal with it. If they informed us when they found out we would have had more options. They blamed it on being short staffed the reason they didn’t call. They pretty muched shrugged their shoulders on the mess up and not calling. They wouldn’t even answer the quesion what would have happened if she hadn’t gone in. They weren’t even having the purple dress shipped so they clearly knew no one would have wanted it. She had an all black dress overnighted to have something for the wedding as this was now 3 days till the wedding. Luckly the tux place was able to work with us and change the best mans tux last minute to match. The next day when picked up they originally said the dress would be full price plus the price of the overnight shipping. They were extremly rude and acted as if she was being burdensome for spending hundreds of dollars with their company. They finally offered 25% off. She refused it and simply said she would pay full now and then take it up with corporate. They REFUSED to give her a phone number or address for corporate and simply told her to mail and complaints to the store. At no point in time was there every even an apology or even a sign that felt bad. The whole time they acted as though the maid of honor made an error. The contract clearly stated the date and the correct colors and the House of Brides did not fulfill anything in the contract, expect of course the price.
