Tech USA – company makes inaccurate claims of employing “professional computer engineers who know what they are doing,” as opposed to “technicians.” They bill customers for mobile PC service and repair at the rate of $105.00 an hour. Their web site claims of “100% Satisfaction Guaranteed” and “30 Minute Response Time” also proved to be lies. | One of their “engineers,” Ken, performed a “System Restore” on my PC. This business refuses to do any Windows 10 servicing, upgrading, or restoring, instead insisting to the customer that they perform a clean install of Windows 7 or Windows 8. The process basically involves them backing up your personal data, wiping your system clean, then clean installing Windows 7 or 8 and replacing your personal data. | After this service person completed his work, created a credit card billing, and left my home, I proceeded to reinstall necessary programs not restored in the repair process. This is when I discovered the service person “restored” my PC with the wrong version of Windows 7. He installed a 32-bit version of the Windows 7 operating system, when my PC was a 64-bit version of Windows 7 and an upgraded Windows 10. A 32-bit OS limits the amount of available RAM used by the system, whereas a 64-bit OS is more generous with RAM usage, making programs easier to run. | I have made several phone calls with messages, and submitted several e-mails, requesting their service person revisit to correct his installation error. But, there have been no responses to any of my attempted contacts, and it appears their non-response is very intentional. No one answers their telephone number live, only a recorded message stating “please leave a message for…Tech USA.” All of this appears to be an intentional scam on Tech USA’s part…they do shoddy, unacceptable repair work, then they take your money, and make themselves unavailable for any further contact, questions, follow-up, problem solving, etc. | I also discovered Tech USA is not an accredited Better Business Bureau (BBB) company, and found two recent BBB complaints filed against them that went unresolved because they failed to respond to the complaints.
