Dean Piskor came into the the pain management office as a rep fo Pernix, a manufacturer of Opiod products. Generally, our doctors don’t see sales reps during the day, but this buffoon made a commotion that one of our staff placated him by listening to his asinine sales pitch. He was completely unknowledgeable about pain management, and actually got into an argument with our PA. When one of the doctors interceded, Piskor continued with his ludicrous sales pitch and quoted statistics that were completely invalid as well as other statements that were not rooted in reality. The office became worried as the bloated Piskor became very agitated, and his face turned scarlet and he began to perspire profusely from his bald head. Later that evening we reviewed that day’s incident and decided not to follow up with the Company, but rather we decided to not write scripts for any of their products. We informed the normal sales rep for our office of this decision, and he was very polite and business appropriate, apologizing for Mr. Piskor. He related that Dean Piskor was also his Sales Manager, and that most of the salespeople under his umbrella were leaving or looking actively for different employment. The Rep was so funny in his description of Piskor’s unorthodox and ineffective motivational techniques that I brought in several of the other doctors to listen to him on speaker phone. It was just too ridiculous! We felt so badly for the young man that we invited him back to the office with one caveat: he was not allowed to bring Dean Piskor to any of the centers we have, ever.
