Recol Aluminum Florida

Complaint: I met with Tony Requejo (the owner of the company) in early March of 2013 to have a screened enclosure build in my house. He came to my house and gave me an estimate (which was much lower than other contractors) and I accepted and signed the contract on 3/29/2013. Antonio requested 50% of the money up front and told me the following week they will contact me to obtain the survey of the house and start the permit. He insisted I give him a check not a credit card. They never called back. After four weeks of me calling constantly and leaving voice mails without response I got a hold of Tony who informed me that the permit has been pulled but they are waiting on the city for something (which he did not clarify). After I checked on the city of Fort Lauderdale permit web site that there is no permit pulled at all (and to this day there isn’t one) I called back and expressed my concern that he is being deceiving to me and I wish to cancel my contract and have my deposit refunded. Tony proceeded to tell me that they have already purchased materials and cannot refund my money or return the materials. I requested the invoices where the materials were purchased for our project. After a while Tony sent me invoices which were clearly fake – On the first one he had purchased two doors, but our project has one door. The second invoice was particularly suspicious because it was hand written, no signature, date on the invoice was 3/29 (the exact date we signed the contract) and when I called the vendor they informed me that Tony had called them “today”” to request those materials. Furthermore the invoice has a writing “”20% restocking fee”” which indicates the materials are returnable. Third invoice had the job site address other than ours

Address: which lead me to believe that this invoice was not for our project. After couple of months waiting on Antonio to return my deposit and multiple contacts without an answer he emailed me and agreed on refunding my deposit minus 20% for restocking fees in two payments

Website: 5602 NW 161st Street Miami Gardens, Florida USA

Phone: one of which he would make right away and the second by 6/17/2013. Since that email I have not heard from Antonio or seen any refund back. There are numerous complaints online about this company where they have scammed people our of deposit
