SmartStyle Hair Salon Review

I had let my hair grow for 8 years, 14 inches at the nape of my neck, my hair was all one length. I went into SmartStyles with a picture of how I wanted my hair cut. I showed the picture and asked if anyone in the shop could do the cut, a long layered shag. The person at counter, Chaju Wavee Aboyte, said “We all can.” I went and sat down in her chair. | I showed Chaju Wavee Aboyte the picture again and started telling her how I long I wanted it in back. and how it was to be layered from the top length of 3 inches down to the top of my bra srtap. explained that the bottom of my hair should be the same length as the top when combed above my head. got this glazed look and informed me she IS A PROFESSIONAL and knew how to do the cut. Chaju Wavee Aboyte combed my hair into sections and sarted to cut the back. I stopped her because she was cutting straight across and not in the ‘U’ shape for the layered shag. Chaju Wavee Aboyte said that that was just the initial cut and ignored what I was saying, to the point of asking another employee if she could turn the music up louder, then walked to the back and turned the music up. I should have left right then but she had started the cut, i was just hoping the rest of the cut would be better. NOT what happened! | After a few minutes, Chaju Wavee Aboyte asked if I wanted her to blow dry my hair. I told her I might when she’s finished my hair cut. Chaju Wavee Aboyte informed me that she WAS finished. I asked her if the cut she did looked anything like the picture I showed her? Is my hair layered? She informed me she did layer my hair and showed me the ends. The ENDS! Is my hair 3 inches on top and 6 inches at the nape? Chaju Wavee Aboyte had nothing to say. Asked why one side is longer than the other and the long side in back is straight and other curved? No anwer,Chaju Wavee Aboyte walked to the register like I was going to pay for the BUTCHER job she did on my hair. I was so upset I was shaking, crying, yelling and coulding get out of there fast enough. | After I calmed down, I wrote a review of my horrid experience on YELP. I did not lie, I did not exaggerate, I did not name names in the review. Because of the phone call I got, I am happy to name names. Chaju Wavee Aboyte!! | Next morning I received a call, voicemail from some man that identified his self as the New owner of the SmartStyles Salon I reviewed and would I return his call? Calling back I went through the strangest call screening program I’ve ever heard, finally connected. The man spoke so fast, I had to ask him twice to repeat his name, finally asking him to spell it. Zareh, but everyone calls me ‘Mr. Z’, said he wanted to hear my side of the story? My side? You read the Yelp review or you wouldn’t be calling me! My review IS my side!! | What Zareh, ‘Mr. Z’, really meant to say was that he had spoke with his employees and he was calling to DENY everything! Every time I would start to say something, Zareh ‘Mr. Z’ would butt in with “She didn’t say that” “That didn’t happen.” ” She cut your hair the way you wanted.’ BULL SH!+!!! Zareh, ‘Mr.Z’, wasn’t there. Zareh ‘Mr. Z’s employees are saying what they need to save their jobs. I have nothing else to lose, I already lost 8 years of hair! | Zareh ‘Mr. Z’ said he thought my review was unfair, what could he do so I would take down my review? What can he do? Glue my hair back on so I can get the hair cut I wanted. Pay me for the day’s pay I lost because I was to embarrassed to go in public with the butcher job his employee, Chaju Wavee Aboyte, gave me. Pay me back, minus the $12.00 you charge, the $75.00 plus $5.00 tip I paid to have my hair redone. Zareh ‘Mr. Z’, when you do those things, I will take down my review!
