Complaint: The St. Joseph County Child Support Office refuses to call Mr. Sheler back into court, despite the fact that he has habitually violated the courts child support order. Mr. Sheler ‘supposedly’ lost his job in February 2012; he started working in March. I reported the information to Kimberly Sterzik; she mailed me a letter informing me that paperwork had been sent to an identified employer. It is now June 4, 2012; I have not received any child support since February. Edward Sheler owes me $13K+ in back support; he has two other open cases that carry arrearages. He has surpassed the amount of delinquent child support required for felony charges to be filed. The same applies with license revocation. Mr. Sheler moves and quits jobs without notifying the child support office; which is in direct violation of the original court ruling. I find it strange that certain people can elude their obligations, year after year, without consequences. I have gone back and forth with this office for the past 16 years about Mr. Sheler. I strongly believe that they apply the law unfairly towards some people. I also strongly believe that there have been income tax offsets collected that should have been applied to my case. The child support office will not tell me how much has been collected by Mr. Sheler over the years, as they said it is not my business. They don’t return emails and once I was told that i could not call the office, even though I had a letter in my hand from the case manager that stated I could call her with any questions. I am thinking the people who answer the phones probably got their jobs because they are related to the prosecutor, as his wife was in charge of the Child Support Division. When people stop returning calls it usually means they realized they slipped up and made some huge mistake and they are hoping you will get frustrated and give up. Well, not this lady. I want what is owed to me.
